Dear DICC users,
What Is Happening?
We are currently experiencing a technical issue with our central login service. This is the system that checks your username and password when you connect to the DICC cluster.
Because of a temporary glitch in this service, the system is occasionally dropping connections or refusing new logins.
Important: This is a purely technical login issue. Your research data, files, and account passwords are completely safe and secure.
How Does This Affect You?
While we fix the problem, you might notice a few disruptions:
- Login Failures: You may get an error or a timeout when trying to log in via SSH.
- Disconnected Sessions: Your active session might suddenly close or drop.
- Running Jobs: Any jobs already running on the cluster will continue to run normally. However, you might have trouble logging in to check on them.
What Should You Do?
Our team is actively working on a fix to get everything running smoothly again. In the meantime:
- If you are locked out: Please wait a few minutes and try logging in again. The system is automatically restarting itself when it glitches, so access will come and go.
- If you are currently logged in: Try to avoid starting major interactive work. If your connection drops unexpectedly, any unsaved work in your terminal could be lost.
We apologize for the interruption to your work and are working to get this resolved as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience!
