Scratch Storage Cleanup Policy Reminder

Greeting HPC users,

As many of you might already be aware, we have a scratch cleanup policy enforced to purge data that is not being accessed for more than 90 days. The cleanup is to ensure that unused data is purged in order to provide sufficient scratch storage capacity for long term computing usage.

Recently, we noticed that some of the users have been running scripts to circumvent the clean up action. We would like to remind that this is considered to be violating the HPC Service Guidelines in terms of fairness and resource usage. Thus, any user observed to continue intentionally subverting the policy will have their account suspended until further notice.

We would like to say thank you to those who spent effort ensuring their scratch storage is clean and organised. If a longer period of time before data purging is needed, please contact DICC via the service desk.
