DICC Universiti Malaya was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Jabatan Audit Negara (JAN) for a benchmarking and knowledge-sharing visit focusing on UM’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) initiative and infrastructure. 🤝💻
The session gave us the opportunity to share DICC’s experience in developing and managing HPC and GPU computing infrastructure to support research, AI, machine learning, and other compute-intensive workloads across Universiti Malaya.
During the visit, we discussed several key areas, including:
- ⚡ GPU resource sharing and utilisation
- 🖥️ HPC cluster management and orchestration
- 📊 Monitoring, health checks, and resource utilisation
- ⏳ Job scheduling, queue management, and concurrent users
- 🤖 AI infrastructure and GPU-based workloads
- 📈 Capacity planning, scalability, and future expansion
- 🔐 Governance and operational considerations for shared research infrastructure
The delegation also had the opportunity to learn more about DICC’s current infrastructure and our plans to further strengthen UM’s research computing capabilities with next-generation GPU technologies.
It was a great session with plenty of useful discussion, technical exchange, and sharing of real-world experiences. 💡
We hope the visit provides useful insights to JAN as they continue exploring and strengthening their own AI and advanced computing capabilities.
